The slot canyons of southeastern Utah are quite possibly some of the most unique and enticing features on the Colorado Plateau. Throughout the ages, wind and water have created a labyrinth of passageways and mazes that only the truly adventurous few have the opportunity to experience.
On the Wilderness Leadership expedition you will have the chance to learn the skills required to explore these hidden slot canyons. "Canyoneering" is a term used to describe the various methods of traveling: backpacking, hiking, rappelling, passing and lowering packs, and scrambling. Traveling in this style is considered "technical" because of the ropes and equipment needed to drop into the steep and narrow areas too difficult to approach on foot.
