Give us a call. We are eager to help you make your decision to join us on an expedition. It will be a summer you will never forget.

Doug Doty, Financial Manager is a graduate of Ohio State. He and wife Debbie have lived in the West for over 20 years. Their daughters, Olivia (24) and Megan (21), are both Deer Hill alumnae. When not at work, he can be found in the family organic garden, on his bicycle, or solving a difficult crossword puzzle.

Hillary Ross, Kitchen Manager has been cooking wonderful meals for groups for over 15 years. She’s been an Alaska river guide specializing in natural history interpretation, and has a minor in Botony. Hillary, originally from Healdsburg, California, brings her Sonoma county cuisine style to the Southwest for a wonderful combination of home made meals that everyone raves about at basecamp--especially her desserts! When not at Deer Hill she can be found in her garden or hiking in the mountain meadows with her dog Tessa and husband Bradley.

Jason Kroll, Program Manager has over 10 years of experience working in the outdoor industry. He has worked for many programs throughout the West. Most recently he has enjoyed guiding adults, as well as youth, for Telluride's San Juan Outdoor School. In California Jason taught for the Chadwick School's outdoor program and Azure Adventure Professionals. As co-owner of Rubicon Adventures in Arizona and a backcountry educator at Prescott College, Jason furthered his knowledge of the Southwest. Born in Modesto, California, Jason attended the University of California @ San Diego and Cal Polytech/ San Luis Obispo. Jason loves exploring the mountains and is happy to live in the beautiful Mancos Valley with his fiance, Pam and his dog, Kaisa.

Brenna Kenney, Staff Manager and Internship Coordinator Brenna, having recently traded in her chainsaw and trail tools, comes to Deer Hill with over five years experience in wilderness leadership, outdoor education and youth development. After graduating from the University of Louisville with a degree in Political Science, Brenna packed up her belongings and headed West for the mountains. For two years Brenna led programs with the Northwest Youth Corps and continued her youth conservation work in Alaska and Arizona. Brenna managed service crews in southwestern Colorado this summer and we welcome her commitment to service and positive energy. When not working, she avidly pursues running, swimming, hiking and any outdoor activity where she can tote along her dogs, Kiva and Dixie.
